So, you got that fancy new 'responsive' Joomla! website up and your clients just love it. Now they ask (because they always will...), "we have a form or chart we want to use". You panic knowing that Joomla! editor tables are not 'responsive' and quite frankly... looks really bad on a mobile or small screen device! As webmasters' we have and will continue to deal with this delima and this is why I built TableAholic. As a Joomla extension, TableAholic makes any editor table you create 100% mobile, small screen ready and responsive!
The magic is in the code and that is all you need to know, EXCEPT, how to use it! First, design your Joomla! editor table as you normally would and when finished add, class="responsive" into the table tag. This can be done by editing your article's source code or if you are using the JCE editor click onto the Table Properties-->Advanced Tab (Blue arrow), type in 'responsive' into the Classes field (Red arrow) and finally, click the Insert button (Green arrow). This will embed class="responsive" into your table tag.
PLUGIN USAGE: Type just above any Joomla! editor table you create... DONE! You can apply some TableAholic custom CSS to your table(s) by adding it into the plugin 'Add custom CSS' option.
MODULE USAGE: Type just above any Joomla! editor table you create... DONE! You can apply some TableAholic custom CSS to your table(s) by adding it into the module 'Add custom CSS' option.
PLUGIN vs. MODULE USAGE: Either install will do the trick for. It is all based on how you wish to show editor tables within your Joomla! install. The Plugin and it's supporting option will be GLOBAL across your entire Joomla! install. Everytime you envoke the plugin's trigger tag within your articles, it will call-up the plugin's options for all of your editor tables throughout your Joomla! install. This is great if you want all your editor tables to have the same 'look and feel'. Using the module extension gives you the same end results with one exception. Because you can 'duplicate' modules within Joomla!, you have the ability to add different custom CSS code within each 'duplicated' module extension. This is very helpful if you want your editor tables to have a different 'look and feel' from each other across your Joomla! install. The choice is yours... as it should be!
TableAholic is 100% FREE to download, use, abuse and enjoy!
